About

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”  Hippocrates

For over thirty-five years, Cynthia Armbrister has focused on integrating and balancing body systems in order to facilitate a return to wholeness and well-being.  Her approach incorporates traditional touch therapies (both Eastern and Western), as well as holistic health practices such as nutrition and energy medicine.

Each session is unique and tailored to the individual client’s needs. If the presenting concern is physical pain, injury or chronic conditions, a variety of touch therapies can be utilized to ease the discomfort.  Sometimes, incorporating nutritional balancing or lifestyle adjustments can hasten the healing process.  Additionally, addressing spiritual malaise may create an opening for a deeper journey to wholeness.

Some of the modalities which Cynthia employs are:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Causal Field Realignment
  • Energy Medicine and Mind-Body Centering Techniques
  • Fertility Enhancement
  • Meditation Instruction
  • Nutritional Assessment/Lifestyle Counseling
  • Process Accupressure
  • Plant Spirit Medicine
  • Reflexology
  • Spiritual Guidance and Counseling
  • Trigger Point Therapy

Cynthia began her journey with holistic health after an automotive accident left her needing more than allopathic medicine could offer, and she began to explore complementary approaches to healing.  This journey led to a license as a Holistic Health Practitioner in San Diego, CA.

She was privileged to apprentice with Margarita, an indigenous healer, for over 10 years, and is writing a book on her experiences with her beloved teacher, mentor and friend.

Currently, she maintains a private practice in Fredericksburg, VA.  She is a preferred provider for the Integrative Healing program at the MWHC Regional Cancer Center, has served as a contract chaplain at Mary Washington Hospital, and has been an active hospice volunteer for several decades. She is also on the faculty of the Integrative Chaplaincy Certification Course in Charlotte, NC.

  3. I have been seeing Cynthia for many years now. I have used other therapists, including massage/acupressure, mind/body centering techniques, neuromuscular facilitation, acupuncture, chiropractic, and kinesiology. They have done some good for me, but she has a greater depth and breadth of skill and learning and knows so much more about what you need. As pointed out by the other comments on this page, she is an intuitive healer with the gift of knowing what your body, mind and soul need to be whole and to function the best they possibly can. She will recommend other modalities if needed, even if she can’t provide them. Importantly, she does not sell medicines or supplements. You never feel like her recommendations are self-serving.

My major problems center around my long commute to and from work and sitting at a desk while there. That leads to structural problems which leads to closed meridians and worse. For me, she works to open those meridians and then focuses on mind/body centering to reduce the results of a stressful lifestyle. You might say I come away from a session with Cynthia being cured of body and soul.

I highly recommend trying a session with Cynthia. You will understand what I and the others on this page are talking about. It is well worth your time.
